A woman has been strangled and stabbed by her ex-husband in her own bedroom in Shotton, Wales. The suspect was sentenced to a heavy sentence on Tuesday, April 12.

Russell Marsh, 29, stabbed and strangled his wife, Jade Marsh in her room at Shotton. This a week after the woman left him. On Tuesday April 12, Russell Marsh was convicted of murder over there Mold Crown Court. “It was a savage and ruthless attack”Judge Rhys Rowlands said. “Marsh was”consumed by self-pity and jealousy“when he went to his ex’s home and carried out a ‘prolonged and cruel’ attack”, added the judge.
“There can only be one sentence for murder and that is life in prison”
Shortly before Ms Ward’s body was discovered, Russell Marsh was filmed by officers at a police station. In particular, he told the police thathe had done something terrible, depending on the medium. Russell Marsh admitted killing Jade Ward by asphyxiation and confessed to having no legal reason to do so. However, he claimed thathe didn’t want to hurt her. Moreover, during the trial, Russell Marsh stated that he believed “that she was trying to force him to commit suicide in order to claim his million pound life insurance payout”.
“I have watched you throughout this trial and you have no showed the slightest trace of remorse. There can only be one sentence for murder and that is life imprisonment“, Judge Rhys Rowlands said. Russell Marsh received a minimum sentence of 25 years in prison.
