Women in leadership positions: Leyla Piedayesh
On Instagram, Piedayesh shows herself sometimes with sunglasses, sometimes next to a bottle of red wine, here and there with her daughter and above all: artistically. And that's the German-Iranian too. In 2004 she founded her label "lala Berlin", which is best known for its eye-catching patterns and colorful prints.
Lots of roles, lots of compromises – lots of freedom
Piedayesh was born in Iran and came to Germany in the 1970s. The roots of her creativity are in Iran, she told the "Spiegel". For her, home is above all the place where you feel comfortable. It doesn't matter whether it's a country, a city or your own bed. Piedayesh is just as diverse as her internationally celebrated fashion: She is a mother, businesswoman, creative, free. Your work always has a statement, should be political, strong and loud. The designer doesn't hide herself or her origins, but proudly shows who she is. And shows us how powerful and energetic we women can be – if we want.
