Women’s Paris-Roubaix: Dutch Marianne Vos, positive for Covid-19, is forfeited

Bad news for the multiple world champion. Dutchwoman Marianne Vos tested positive for Covid-19 and therefore withdrew for the second edition of Paris-Roubaix Women this Saturday morning.

Three-time world champion Marianne Vos finished second in the first edition of the race last October.

“Riders and staff do a self-test every day, including this morning Marianne Vos’ test came back positive,” said Dutch outfit Jumbo, adding that a second test confirmed the first result.

“The disappointment is huge. When I learned the result, my world collapsed,” commented the 34-year-old Dutchwoman, who skipped the Amstel Gold Race Ladies last Sunday to prepare for Paris-Roubaix Women as well as possible.

The race started at 12:35 p.m. from the northern town of Denain to reach the Roubaix velodrome after 124.7 kilometers.
