An HBO documentary deals with the abuse allegations against Woody Allen. After broadcasting the first episode, he has now responded to it.

Woody Allen (85) and Soon-Yi Previn (50) have broken their silence about "Allen v. Farrow" and described the HBO documentary as "a bad slap full of untruths". This is reported by "The Hollywood Reporter", citing a statement from the director and his wife. It says that the responsible filmmakers Amy Ziering (59) and Kirby Dick (68) have "no interest in the truth". Allen also claims that he should have responded to the allegations made in the document within a few days.

In the first episode of the four-part documentary, which aired in the USA on Sunday, Dylan Farrow (35), the daughter of actress Mia Farrow (76), begins to talk in detail about the allegations she has made against Woody Allen in the report Past has raised. Allen was Mia Farrow's partner when Dylan was a young child. According to "The Hollywood Reporter", the first episode of "Allen v. Farrow" paints a picture of Allen who is said to have approached Dylan at a young age. In addition to Mia and Dylan Farrow, other Farrow family members and friends also have their say in the documentary.

Allegations as early as the early 90s

In Woody Allen's statement, he not only accuses the documentary filmmakers of having "secretly worked with the Farrows for years". He and his wife were "approached less than two months ago", according to the director, and they were only allowed a few days to react, "of course" they were refused. It goes on to say: "As has been known for decades, these allegations are false." Several authorities investigated the allegations at the time and found that no abuse had taken place.

Woody Allen married Soon-Yi Previn in 1997 and the couple have two daughters. Previn is the adopted daughter of Allen's former partner, Farrow. At the end of 2017, Dylan Farrow went public again with the allegations against Allen. He has always denied the allegations that the then seven-year-old Dylan first made during his separation from Mia Farrow in 1992. At that time, the allegations were not prosecuted for lack of evidence, but the responsible public prosecutor criticized the experts' approach as inadequate.
