We love our children unconditionally and stand behind them – come what may. But do you know that too? An Instagram account has collected "words for a happy childhood".

The two sisters Vivien and Jasmin run the Instagram account @poppybird_ together. They give tips for a mindful life with children, present their evening ritual and show books that they are particularly fond of – for adults and children. The focus is particularly on love, awareness and trust. Regardless of whether it is about arguing, brushing your teeth or eating healthy.

"Words for a Happy Childhood"

Together, the two of them asked their followers: Which words would you have liked to hear (often) in your childhood? The result is a collection of wonderfully loving sentences that touched us in such a way that we can not withhold them from you. Some of them are surprising, others seem so natural – but our little ones especially need support and affection. And preferably very clearly.

Words that express love

"I love you no matter what."

"You're fine the way you are."

"I'm proud of you."

"I am on your side."

"You are enough."

"You are important to me."

"You are the most beautiful child for me."

Words that encourage you

"I always stand behind you, no matter what."

"Dare to do it, you can do it!"

"You can tell me everything."

"You can do that."

"We can do this together."

"I'm with you."

Words about feelings

"I understand you."

"I'm sorry."

"You were right."

"What do you want?"

"You can be afraid."

"You can be in a bad mood."

"You can be sad."

Words about being together

"It's nice that you're here."

"How can I help you?"

"What are you doing now? May I be there?"

"I love spending time with you so much."

The idea behind it

These sentences make our hearts so warm that we want to read on forever. Vivien and Jasmin had the idea that parents would say one of these sentences to their children every day. We think: gladly more! This does not only apply to children, of course, but also to siblings, friends or partners – simply for all the people we are particularly fond of. After all, we can all use more affection in everyday life.
