In its text, the group indicates that it has targeted these brands because they are part of “sponsors who have still not publicly announced their support for compensation requests” for workers in Qatar as requested by Amnesty International. “Our staging served to highlight the lack of commitment of this sponsor on this subject”underlines a member of Nantes Extinction Rebellion.

“They are on the wrong target”

Following this ” degradation “the head of the Kia dealership in question does not currently plan to file a complaint. “There was no breakage. They stuck a poster and threw a liquid that comes off with cold water on vehicles. It’s not gross vandalism.”explain to FigaroAlexandre Paillé, the regional concessions manager of the CGA group.

If he says ” sensitive “ to the subjects denounced by the activists of Extinction Rebellion, he believes that the latter have not chosen the right place to raise awareness of their cause: “They are on the wrong target. It is not us, on our scale, who decide on Kia’s sponsorship choices and it is not this brand that has chosen to have the FIFA World Cup take place in Qatar. It is a choice of Fifa. »
