Last year it was Burning Crusade who had returned to the game, and now it’s the turn of Wrath of the Lich King to follow the natural order of things by disembarking in turn in the version classic of the MMO.
The Lich King will be back this year
Wrath of the Lich King is undoubtedly the most famous extension of the game, and also one of the most appreciated by the community. It highlights the terrible Lich King Arthas Menethilwho wants to conquer Azeroth from the continent of Northrend.
This extension had thus made it possible to discover a new snowy and icy region, with major new features for the game such as the class of death knightsaccessible from level 55, emblematic dungeons such as Naxxramas or Azjol-Nérub, and the raising of the maximum level to 80.
We will therefore find all the joys of the time, with probably one of the richest extensions in terms of scripts, with the appearance of achievements and calligraphy. PvP fans will also be delighted to get back into the mythical arenas of the time, in the continuity of Burning Crusade, with a few adjustments all the same: in Lich King, there is a personal arena rating and no longer a rating linked to the team.
In the changes, we can also note that there will be no tool for the dungeons: as at the time, it will be necessary to move and form its groups. We will therefore not take advantage of the dungeons tool added in 3.3.5. This follows community feedback as the official statement says: “For the community, the emphasis on social connections is a big part of what makes WoW Classic so special, and we agree. “.

We learn that it will be possible to create death knights before the release of the expansion, via an update, and if this is your first death knight, no prerequisites will be required. . Otherwise, you will have to wait for level 55. And as usual, an optional special pass will allow you to climb directly to the maximum level to rediscover the challenges of this expansion.
Wrath of the Lich King Classic will be available for free for all owners of a subscription to World of Warcraft. Unfortunately, no release date has been revealed yet, but Blizzard hopes to be able to (re)release this extension in 2022.
