Decidedly, 2023 will be a great year for players. After Dead Space Remake, Resident Evil 4 Remake, or Hogwarts Legacy to name a few, we will be entitled to major releases like Diablo IV, Starfield, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom or Street Fighter 6.

And justly, Capcom gave a new Showcase dedicated to its famous fighting game on the night of April 20 to 21, 2023. The opportunity for the studio to say more about World Tour single-player mode, on the characters available, on the accessibility and but also on the combat system. Without further ado, let’s take stock together of Capcom’s presentation.

World Tour mode, an open world with a hint of RPG

First of all, we must mention the mode World Tour, the big novelty of this opus. Here, players will be led to create their own custom avatar before embarking on the exploration of a vast open world. Indeed, we can walk the streets of Metro City, Nayshall and other emblematic places of the saga.

The World Tour mode, comparable to a Story mode, will also include some RPG elements. It will for example be possible to improve the stats of his character by using objects or food, but also by modifying his wardrobe.

As you gain experience, you can then spend points in various skill trees to unlock additional moves and special attacks.

But that’s not all. During his journey, the player can meet the 18 fighters who make up the game’s roaster. By giving them gifts and completing certain missions for them, you can strengthen your bonds of friendship and learn their respective techniques and special moves. Then it’s up to you to create a hybrid character using the attacks of Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li.

Ranked Matches will also be available upon release.. For the occasion, Capcom has made some adjustments to “reduce the pressure of losing a match at certain levels”. For example, rookies won’t lose league points for losing while Iron-Gold and Master rank players won’t suffer league demotion. Moreover, each character will have their own league rankwhich allows you to try different fighters without fear of losing your ranking in case of defeat.
