Worlds LoL: Nisqy was not enough against RNG! Finally an answer to Aatrox in toplane?

While the fnatic make a Clear in Group Athem MAD Lions have not succeeded in cross the wall RNGand conceded their first loss during these Worlds 2022. However, the Europeans did not not to be ashamed of their performancehaving offered a good performance, even if it proved insufficient to overcome the representatives of the LPL.

Jungle diff?

Impossible to talk about this match without mentioning the Graves of Wei. From the start of the game, the RNG jungler found himself in all the right shots, taking four of the first kills of his team. It allowed her to be a real threat throughout the game, but especially in the highlights of Graves: the early/mid game. With the champion’s natural resistance which is far from negligible before the majority of players have completed their third item, he was able to both delay and put monstrous damage. Wei has always known how to keep his cold bloodespecially during a clash at the Herald of the Rift where he has smit the objective to regain HP and survive during the teamfight. Controlling a Graves who is as good as fast in his game is very complicated, and this allowed Wei to be the real metronome of his team. Even if Elyoya played his Trundle well and there is not much to reproach him for, Wei was a cut above.

Did Nisqy succeed in his match?

Yes No Maybe. Behind this very thorough and perfectly clear analysis (it’s ironic), let’s dwell a little on the performance of the Belgian on Taliyah. Nisqy was pixel perfect several times in teamfightplacing both of very good wallsbut also excellent telluric thrusts for bring carries back to his team. And what about his great action where he manages to kill Breathe in the middle of all RNG players, while he is the last survivor of his team ! The MAD Lions midlaner enjoyed teamfights, and to say he missed his game would be a lie.

Yet, one cannot help but think that his Taliyah would have could do better. If there is nothing to criticize during the teamfights, Nisqy has never managed to find good offsets, who could have put his team back on track. However, the situation did not lend itself to it. Between the Wei’s grave fed, and Xiaohu’s Galio who could follow him very quickly, such offsets were not easy to find. Especially since Xiaohu is very far from being a beginner on Galioand this champion is regularly banned against him in LPL. It therefore seems more accurate to write that the RNG managed to muzzle its optionsboth thanks to the facts of the game (the Graves ahead in his game) and thanks to an intelligent draft with Galio to follow Taliyah’s shifts.

Jax, the answer to Aatrox?

In two games, the RNG left Aatrox open twice to counter it with Breathe’s Jax. Nevertheless is it really a solution for all teams. In our roundup of LPL teams, we were talking about his Jax and his Fiora. If the first came out twice, with a relative successin the sense that it did not not destroyed by one of the top picks of the moment, and has managed to shine sometimes, without being the main carry from the team, the second was banned by MAD Lions. Nevertheless, the question deserves to be asked: is Jax a universal answer to Aatrox, or a response that only a player at least as strong on the champion can pick ?

Jax has the arguments for hinder Aatrox in early game on the lane, even if he must remain vigilant to avoid his opponent’s combos. We saw it in the game, if Armut placed a full combo on the Jax, the latter was in great difficulty at best. However, this analysis must be tempered by taking into account the fact that the MAD Lions toplaner has more splitpush than Breathe, and therefore had a small xp bonus for most of the game. In the end, it seems that Jax is a good answer to Aatroxeven if it is very far from being a hard counter. It’s a safe bet that Breathe has given ideas to some toplaners, to see if this response becomes universal in the coming days.

worlds-lol

Pool A of the League of Legends Worlds Play-In is relatively affordable, given that there is no LCK or LPL team. For this reason, Fnatic and Evil Geniuses are rubbing their hands… But in this little game, the Europeans have taken a decisive advantage.
