WoW: Become a millionaire thanks to Torghast, he did it… But not as we imagine

On the eve of the rollout of the World of Warcraft expansion Dragonflight, Blizzard MMORPG players are looking to keep busy in many ways on PrePatch 10.0. Some loop through Mythic Mode +, others do raids, still others fight in the arena… And then there’s rogue trainer who decided to become a millionaire. Millionaire, yes, but neither in euros nor in gold coins…!

WoW’s Unusual Millionaire

If there is one element on which we cannot contradict video game players, and in particular World of Warcraft, it is the ingenuity they demonstrate on a daily basis, surprising us day after day with the unusual challenges and often very useless that they give themselves. While waiting for the Dragonflight expansion, scheduled for November 26, Roguetrainer has, for example, chosen to become a millionaire.

But if the feat may seem anecdotal for many players, know that it is not. He did not choose to win real money or gold coins. No. Instead, he set out to get 1,000,000 soul ashes, the currency obtained in Torment, the Tower of the Damned and which allows you to create legendary items in the Shadowlands expansion. And we know you’re asking yourself the question, so we answer it: no, it’s absolutely useless, it’s even completely absurd and delusional. But he did!

To achieve this goal, the World First of the day proceeded in several ways. Although he has not revealed his method, we know that there are only a few ways to obtain this currency, so we can quite easily estimate how crazy his challenge is. As a reminder, Soul Ashes can be obtained in three ways:

  • When completing a Wing of Torment, Tower of the Damned: 3,140 soul ashes for completing Echelon 18
  • By transferring Soul Ashes from his other characters to his main character: 250 soul ashes per transfer, in exchange for 300 soul ashes on the character sending them
  • By purchasing a Bag of Searched Souls from Zereth Mortis: 5,150 soul ashes per satchel, in exchange for 3,000 comic flowsthe currency of Patch 9.2

If we imagine that this player only looped through wings of Torment, the Tower of the Damned at Echelon 18, then we know that it took him no less than 319 completed wings to achieve his goal. 319 yes, already some don’t have the faith to do just one to get a little legendary… What a nightmare!

Preview of Roguetrainer’s recurring nightmare in the coming months

However, this Roguetrainer is unlikely to be as crazy as that. Since Patch 9.2, we know that it is possible to obtain a large amount of soul ashes (and other components) through the Bag of Scrutinized Soulsallowing players to transfer their Cosmic flows “excess” into a bag containing the necessary to create a legendary item of maximum level. Only here, to get just one of these bags, you need 3,000 Cosmic flowsa currency obtainable in particular in Zereth Mortis but also by browsing dungeons in Mythic Mode + for example and by finishing rated arena matches, among others.

Since we know that Roguetrainer is a very diligent PvP player, we can easily imagine that he spent a lot of time in rated arena matches. At 100 Cosmic flows per match won, he would have needed 30 wins to get a single sack… And so 5,850 wins in rated matches to get the 195 sacks required to get his insane World First.

World of Warcraft

This is obviously again very unlikely. The truth lies, as often, probably halfway between these two hypotheses. This player has thus likely traveled a bewildering amount of times through Tier 18 of Torment, while transferring his Cosmic flows in soul ashes as he progressed in PvP (or even PvP through Mythic+ dungeons), and transferring the few ashes he had onto his alts.

In short, to sum up Roguetrainer had time to waste. A LOT of time to waste. But hey, now he can at least proudly say he’s a millionaire AND World First as well. And that, few people can brag about it… And anyway, no one will be able to explain to him what the Tower of the Damned is anymore. Only one question remains on our side: Why ?!

Torment, the Tower of the Damned is one of the major features of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. Discover everything you need to know about this real infinite dungeon with labyrinthine corridors that change with each visit.
