A question comes up regularly when talking to World of Warcraft: Dragonflight players, whether they are beginners or not: “What is the best spec?“. In order to answer this, we are offering you our tier list of the best specializations for PrePatch 10.0 in raids, then in Mythic Mode +.
All the information below comes from Warcraftlogs, Raider.io, IcyVeins, Wowhead, the Battle.net Armory, reviews from experienced players as well as our personal experience. They only concern the PvE content of the Dragonflight PrePatch. These rankings involve a subjective component, and above all only concern the PrePatch, the state of each specialization will have nothing to do once the extension is deployed.
Here is what each “rank” that we assign in these tier lists corresponds to:
- S-level: Excellent specialization, all groups are looking for players of this specialization
- Level A: Good specialization, efficient and appreciated in groups
- Level B: Decent specialization, may have difficulty finding groups but is able to stand out in the hands of a good player
- C-level: Weak specialization with little chance of being taken in a group, but not necessarily bad!
- Level D: Mediocre specialization, one of the few to really avoid if you want to be at least efficient.
Dragonflight PrePatch: Best Specializations in Mythic+
The rankings below give you an overview of the status of each specialization in Mythic + high level. Unlike the tier list dedicated to raids, this one focuses less on DPS and HPS. Indeed, the effectiveness of a specialization in Mythic + goes much further than that: defensive CDs, crowd control, utility CDs are just as many crucial factors in this game mode, DPS not being a element to be neglected, far from it.
- The ranking below has been compiled according to several criteria involving players who have completed keys of level 20 or more during the PrePatch.

Dragonflight Pre-Patch: Best Raid Specializations
The leaderboards below give you an overview of the status of each specialization in the raid. DPS are ranked by their overall combat DPS ability, Healers by their effectiveness in keeping the raid alive as well as their utility CDs, and Tanks by their survivability and average DPS.
- The ranking below was developed according to several criteria involving the Top 5% of players who performed best in Mythic Mode at PrePatch.

Note : The case of Guardian Druid is very special since it is his average DPS that allows him to place himself so high in the ranking. However, this requires some very specific items without which you will never perform as well as what we tell you here. So distrust!
