Wrong decision – So many customers are dissatisfied after buying a car

Cars are usually bought with care. However, many customers believe shortly after purchasing that they have chosen the wrong vehicle. At least that’s what a study conducted in Germany suggests.

Two out of three German car buyers have the feeling that they have chosen an “unsuitable” model. Only 34 percent are of the opinion that their newly purchased car and its equipment are a good match for their living conditions and requirements. This was the result of a representative survey by the opinion research institute Puls. The rate is slightly higher for new car buyers at 37 percent, and slightly lower for used car buyers at 30 percent. Market researchers suspect the recent poor availability of cars as one of the reasons, which has forced many buyers to make compromises. In addition, however, the increasing complexity of the range is likely to play a role, making it difficult to select the right drives, body shapes and equipment. However, not all car buyers suffer equally from the risk of making the wrong choice. For example, 50 percent of Toyota customers are completely satisfied with their purchase. Customers from Dacia and Mercedes also signaled a high degree of agreement with their own wishes with 45 and 43 percent respectively. These brands are also recommended more often than average. At the end of the ranking, Fiat lags behind with 5 percent. There are also rather poor levels of satisfaction at Peugeot (27 percent) and Audi (22 percent).
