The Raspberry Foundation split an astonishing tweet to announce its future nano-computer Pi 5.

A tweet accompanied by a diagram based on (among other things) BBQ and WTF.

The Raspberry Pi 5 announced with humor

A few days ago, the official Twitter account of the Raspberry Foundation published a diagram of its future nano-computer: the Pi 5. A diagram that is all the more serious and official in appearance, but which is meant to be actually a little end of the year joke. There are indeed certain mentions such as WTF, nuclear codes, black box, back door or even BBQ (for “barbecue”). Something to formalize, not without humor, the upcoming arrival of this Raspberry Pi 5.

Some see it as a nod to the tweet of a certain Elon Musk (him again!), published on November 19, on which we could also see a similar diagram, and to say the least incomprehensible, on a whiteboard.

The Raspberry Pi 5 in 2024, not before

However, if the Raspberry foundation wanted to formalize the upcoming arrival of a 5e generation of Pi, the latter has already confirmed that this new nano-computer will not be launched before… 2024. In 2023, Raspberry indeed wishes to recover from “ two years of hell and continue to market the Raspberry Pi 4. It has been impossible to find for the past few months and is just (slowly) starting to see its stocks replenish.
