WWDC 2022 – The new CarPlay shows off and relies on the personalization of the dashboard

Apple is preparing to launch a brand new, more modern and customizable version of CarPlay that manufacturers will be able to fully integrate into their dashboards.

At Apple, on the systems side, the watchword of WWDC 2022 is clearly personalization. This is also the case with CarPlay, the iOS interface for cars. If the company insists on its compatibility with almost all vehicles sold (and the arrival of new partner manufacturers), it above all highlights the increased customization of dashboards thanks to the new version of CarPlay approaching.

The latter will make it possible to obtain a unified visual environment within its vehicle between the on-board computer, the display of the counters and the infotainment part on which CarPlay has previously focused. The idea being to offer a more aesthetic experience, it is not surprising to learn that CarPlay has evolved to adapt to all forms of screens integrated into cars. On the other hand, it will be necessary to wait until 2023 to see the first vehicles compatible with this new look CarPlay appear.
