“X-Factor: The Unbelievable” will celebrate its 25th anniversary of its German premiere in 2023. RTLzwei is showing a new episode to mark the occasion.

At the beginning of November 1998 ““X-Factor: The Unbelievable” was broadcast for the first time on RTLzwei. To mark the 25th anniversary of the well-known mystery series, the channel will show a new episode on Sunday, October 29th at 8:15 p.m. The episode will be on RTL+ for 30 days after broadcast available and will then be found in the premium area. In addition to the well-known presenter Jonathan Frakes (71), the new edition features some well-known actors.

The audience is once again presented with five mystery short stories and can puzzle over whether they are made up or (supposedly) true until the solution at the end of the episode. In “Hotel des Grauens” Manu Bennett (54, “Spartacus – Gods of the Arena”) will be seen in the role of receptionist. In “The Meat Rain of Kentucky” Danny Trejo (79, “Sons of Anarchy”) takes on the role of sheriff. “Red Eyes” is a new edition of an “X-Factor” classic about a red-eyed nanny. The idea for the story “The Controller” comes from the “Stories from the Old Building” podcasters Josch Kliemann and Christoph Wellenbrock. Another story is announced entitled “Honor Among Thieves.”

Filming despite a strike

The new episode is part of a new eight-episode season produced in the USA. In September, RTLzwei announced that the episodes could be made in and around Los Angeles despite the Hollywood strike. “RTLzwei and the production partners are not members of the US industry association AMPTP and are therefore not a party in this dispute. We are filming with an exemption from the actors’ union and believe their demands are justified overall,” explained Gerhard Putz from RTLzwei.

Other stars of the new episodes included Richard Karn (67) from “Listen, Who’s Banging”, “Starship Trooper” actor Casper van Dien (54) and former child star Corey Feldman (52, “Stand by Me “, “The Goonies”).
