With a little delay, the ax finally fell on the users of TweetDeck (sorry, X Pro). It will now be necessary to be subscribed to the Blue formula (pardon, Premium) of Twitter (pardon, X.com) to be able to have access to it.

If you are using the old version, however, you can still enjoy a little respite.

The end of free for an essential tool

A few weeks ago, Twitter/X.com announced the end of free access to its TweetDeck/X Pro service for the 1er last August. As often with Elon Musk’s site, after a few weeks behind the announced schedule, the controversial decision is finally effective. Now, when you try to connect to X Pro, a pop-up appears, inviting you to subscribe if you want to go further.

On the other hand, there is (small) good news for professionals and power users who use this very practical tool on a daily basis. The old (and better) version of X Pro, replaced a few weeks ago by a new iteration which it was possible to escape after a few manipulations in the settings, is still accessible without subscribing. The question is obviously: for how much longer?

Either way, eventually, community managers and others in need of multi-column posts or other advanced tools will have to pay or use a third-party solution.
