As of June 12, X (formerly Twitter) will no longer publicly display posts liked by users. Until now, going to someone’s profile allowed, via a dedicated tab, to consult the posts to which that person had added a like. Except that Elon Musk, in a new decision aimed at transforming X in his image, no longer wants it.

Remember that since the latter was pinned for his own likes deemed questionable, paying users of X could already hide their likes via an option. From now on, this will be the case automatically for everyone. The reason given by the businessman: to allow people to like any post without then being attacked for it. A few days ago, he even directly encouraged people to freely like posts with content “edgy” (sensitive).
It is specified that users will still be able to go to their own profile to view liked posts, while the likes counter will always be displayed under the messages. The original author of a post will also be able to see who left a like. This is just one of the umpteenth major changes made to X by Musk to make the platform even bolder. Recently, pornography was officially allowed there, while Musk always wants to place more emphasis on the view counter, to the detriment of likes and retweets.
X’s escape continues
While a growing number of users leave the platform with each decision of this ilk, large companies are also increasingly turning away from the platform. Since June 10, Nintendo has officially stopped the integration of the platform on the Switch. It was the last console manufacturer to offer it, since Sony and Microsoft left the ship last year.
Musk’s politics are not the only reason that could explain this separation, however, since the price of access to X’s API for professionals has climbed to a minimum of $42,000 per month. A price probably too high for Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo to allow players to share screenshots on API impacts the functionality of the X integration.
