Xavier Dolan: his long-awaited series is revealed in an intense and dark trailer

Great news for Xavier Dolan fans. If he is missing from the cinema, the director has a surprise in store for us: his very first series, broadcast in early 2023 on CANAL +. And the least we can say is that the trailer makes you want!

Missing on the big screen, Xavier Dolan is about to illuminate the little one with his dazzling talent. Much awaited by fans of the multi-award-winning filmmaker, his very first series will be broadcast in early 2023 on CANAL+. An Original Creation called The Night where Laurier Gaudreault woke up, in which the director of Laurence Anyways, Mommy and Just the end of the world will once again take us on board thanks to his know-how and his recognizable style among a thousand.

Adapted from the eponymous play by Michel Marc Bouchard, the series follows the fate of Mireille, her brother Julien and their best friend Laurier. At the beginning of 1990, this inseparable trio to whom everything seems to smile saw their way separate. And this after a sad night in October 1991 during which their destiny was turned upside down. But what happened?…

Divided into 5 episodes, this psychological drama suggests a few notes of dark humor, numerous cinematographic references, and a host of nods to horror cinema, as its thrilling trailer proves.

Carried by the interpretations of Anne Dorval (I killed my mother), Julie Le Breton (Cadavres), Patrick Hivon (My brother’s wife), without of course forgetting Xavier Dolan, and lulled by an original soundtrack by Hans Zimmer , The Night where Laurier Gaudreault promises to be one of the series events of 2023. We can’t wait!
