Xavier Niel increases his stake in Luxembourg’s Millicom International Cellular to 19.6%

(Boursier.com) — Businessman Xavier Niel has increased his stake in the Luxembourg telecoms group Millicom International Cellular to 19.6%, said Atlas Investissement, the French billionaire’s investment vehicle.
Last November, Atlas Investissement informed the Luxembourg market regulator that it already owned around 7% of the shares of Millicom, a group which provides fixed and mobile telephony services in Latin America via its TIGO brand.

Listed in the United States with a market capitalization of 3.54 billion dollars at the end of 2022, Millicom employs around 20,000 people.

The group’s sales last year were $5.62 billion, up 3.3% year-on-year on an adjusted basis, with an operating margin of $915 million.
