Xbox Game Pass begins 2024 with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil 2

To start gently, Microsoft has just added Close to the Sun to the catalog, this adventure game released in May 2019 which thought it could stand out by drawing inspiration from the artistic direction of BioShock. It’s up to you, but for Noddus, it was worth a 3. On January 4, those eternally nostalgic for the Second World War will be able to discover the FPS Hell Let Loose and its large-scale multiplayer battles. Solitary players looking for adventure will rather wait until January 9 to start (and try to finish) the copious menu offered by Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, modern standard-bearer of the franchise.

The other big piece of this selection will be offered on January 16 and concerns those who are not part of the 13 million players who have already purchased the remake of Resident Evil 2. A performance which makes the title released in January 2019 the 3rd biggest success story of Capcom. Other titles of the month include the return of We Happy Few, a game developed by Compulsion Games which has been part of the Xbox family since 2018. The rights to this dystopian action-adventure game, however, belong to Gearbox Publishing, which explains that Microsoft had to renegotiate its presence in the catalog.

In terms of departures, Grand Theft Auto 5 will leave the catalog on January 5, a departure which is undoubtedly not a coincidence since the game returned for a spin on PlayStation Plus last month. Rockstar Games’ flagship game therefore continues to benefit from the generosity of manufacturers who are lining up to purchase its services in turn. Four other titles will disappear from the catalog on January 15, including Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden.
