Microsoft has released a new patch for a console that’s already 16 years old. Instead of the Series X|S, the Xbox 360 received a small update because two gamers reported an issue.
Released in late 2005, the Xbox 360 is a respectable 16 years old – but Microsoft obviously hasn’t completely written off the console yet. Although the Xbox 360 is no longer in production, it now has once again received a small patchbecause two gamers noticed a problem.
Xbox 360 gets new patch 16 years after release
A Twitter post from Eden Marie, Xbox Engineering Lead, reveals Microsoft hasn’t forgotten the Xbox 360 yet. In her tweet, Marie announced that two gamers reported problems with the pinning feature on Xbox 360. With this feature it is possible to permanently arrange certain elements on the home screen. Microsoft then released a quick fix that should solve the problem.
Finally, Marie notes that the two gamers could get in touch with her if the pin function is still not correct after 24 hours should work.
Microsoft is working on new Xbox features
While it’s a nice sign that Microsoft still has some support for the Xbox 360, even if the audience for the platform has dwindled noticeably, the company cares of course, currently more about innovations and updates for the Xbox Series X|S – and among them are some promising projects. It was only recently announced that Microsoft had filed a patent that would allow discs to be included in the digital games library. Thus, for example, owners of an Xbox Series S could look forward to greater flexibility in their games.
It was also recently leaked that Microsoft is working on a design tool for dynamic backgrounds for the Xbox Series X | S – with this project could Gamers their own dynamic background create on your console.
