Xbox Series X and S: a year later, the next-gen consoles are still selling better than the previous ones

Contrary to Sony Interactive Entertainment which regularly welcomes the sales caps exceeded by its PS5, Microsoft does not communicate on Xbox Series X | S numbers. We just knew that it had achieved a record launch for the brand and that, in the summer of 2021, this generation was still the best-selling generation compared to the previous ones.

At the start of 2022, more than one after the machines came out, it is still the case. Even though it is still difficult to get hold of the Xbox Series X due to insufficient stocks, due to the shortage of semiconductors, Phil Spencer has just told the New York Times that these new consoles were always best-selling in the history of Xbox after 14 months of operation, thanks to greater demand than ever.

When you think of trying to get an Xbox or a new PlayStation right now on the market, these are really hard to find. And it’s not because the offer is smaller than it ever was. The offer is actually bigger than it ever was. It is because the demand exceeds the supply for all of us.

At this point, we have sold more of this generation of Xbox, namely the Xbox Series X and S, than we had sold any previous Xbox console version. So it’s our job to provide the supply to meet that demand.

Even if the Xbox Series X and S sell a priori less than the PS5, their success remains immense. If you feel like it, the Xbox Series S is currently available at a price of € 299.00 at the Fnac.
