Xbox Series X: Games to launch the console

On November 10th, the Xbox Series X and its sister, the Xbox Series S, will be released. But which games are there right now?

Microsoft is starting a new generation of consoles worldwide on November 10th. The Xbox Series X (499.99 euros) and its sister Xbox Series S (299.99 euros) do not bring gamers anything without the right games. So here is a selection of games that will be available at launch.

Vikings and Resistance

Starting November 10th, players will go on a raid with the Vikings with "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" (Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PS4, PC, Stadia). "Valhalla" tells the story of Eivor, a notorious warrior who pillages and plunders his way through England in an open game world. Axes, swords and shields will clash – for the glory of the Norse gods and for a life that the Vikings want to build in a new home. For PlayStation 5, which will be released in Germany on November 19th, "Valhalla" will be released on November 12th.

"Watch Dogs: Legion" (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia) has also been available since the end of October. It will also be available on November 10th for Xbox Series X / S and on November 12th for PS5. In "Legion" London is on the brink of doom. Players try to fight different factions with a resistance in order to finally free the metropolis. Gamers do not slip into a single, prefabricated role, but use the "Play as Anyone" feature. Each person can be recruited for the resistance and has different skills to offer.

The long-standing "Yakuza" series lets players in "Yakuza: Like a Dragon" (Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PS4, PC and from March 2, 2021 also PS5) play the role of a new one for the first time from November 10th Protagonist, the lower-ranking yakuza member Ichiban Kasuga, hatch. "Star Trek" legend George Takei (83) is also part of the party.

PS enthusiasts race over mud, gravel and snow in "Dirt 5", which is already available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The rally spectacle will also be racing on the Xbox Series X / S on November 10 and on the PS5 on November 19. In 13 vehicle classes, players let the tires squeal on 70 routes. In addition to traditional races, there is also a "playground" mode in which amateur racing drivers can create their own arena courses.

Of course there is "Fortnite"

One of the biggest gaming phenomena of the past few years, "Fortnite", will of course be launched on the Xbox Series X / S. Players can take over their previous progress directly. If you don't know the Battle Royale shooter, you can take a look, because the game is basically free. Only the additional "Save the World" mode has to be purchased if you want to gain access to it.

The loot shooter "Borderlands 3", which has been available for the old consoles, PC and Stadia for some time, is no less colorful and wacky than in "Fortnite". Crazy humor and action-packed shootouts en masse also await players in the next-gen versions of the game, which will be available from November 10 (Xbox Series X / S) and November 19 (PS5). In addition, there is a new "Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition" for the fresh consoles and the previous platforms, which includes all expansions released by November 10th.

Things will get sporty with the "NBA 2K21", which is also already available for the old platforms, and its next-gen versions will be released on November 10th (Xbox Series X / S) and November 12th (PS5). The basketball simulation also has a career mode to offer, in which you can accompany a self-made athlete on his way to becoming an NBA superstar. On the other hand, players have to wait a little longer for titles like "FIFA 21" and "Madden NFL 21". Both should only appear on December 4th for the new consoles.

More games

From November 10th, players will go into heights with "The Falconeer" (Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PC). As a bird of war, gamers explore an open fantasy game world and plunge into breathless dogfights. "The Falconeer" is thus probably one of the most extraordinary titles that hit the new console at the start.

The new "Call of Duty" arrives almost in time for the launch. On November 13th, "Black Ops Cold War", the next part of the popular shooter series, will be released for Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and on November 19th for PS5. This time it's up to players in the Cold War – in a single player campaign, as well as in numerous competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes.
