  • You will probably have to pay more money for Xbox products in the future.
  • Prices should remain stable until Christmas 2022.

You can currently easily buy the Xbox Series X or Series S because it is readily available in Germany – in contrast to the PS5. If you don’t have a console yet but want one, you might not want to wait too long.

Microsoft’s Xbox boss Phil Spencer hints at price increases for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox Game Pass at the Wall Street Journal’s Tech Live event, The Verge reports.

“We’ve held the price of our console, we’ve held the price of games and our subscription. I don’t think we can do this forever,” Spencer said.

Spencer is thus hinting at upcoming price increases, but these will probably not be implemented until 2023 at the earliest. After all, he says: “I think at some point we’re going to have to raise the prices of certain things, but we figured it’s really important to hold the prices we have until Christmas.”

Spencer also revealed at the event that Xbox Game Pass is now profitable, accounting for about 15 percent of Microsoft’s Xbox offering revenue.
