After a march update allowing in particular to pin its games in Quick Resume and change the location of the button Sharemake way for a new firmware for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S this April. It revolves around two new features: a reworked search engine and the ability to adjust the mode’s active hours Standby in power options.
These features are detailed below.
The Xbox team is excited to continue to introduce new ways to improve the Xbox experience, with you at the heart of the decisions, refining it and bringing you new features that take your feedback into account. The April system update will be available during this week and will bring you a new Xbox search engine as well as the ability to adjust standby mode active hours in power options.
The new Xbox search engine
Looking for your new favorite game or movie or more? You can search through the catalog of games, entertainment and apps using the new search page on your console. It has a new look, shows results as a gallery, lets you filter categories using the RB and LB buttons, search YouTube directly from the Movies & TV tab and more. To open this page, use the search button at the top of the home, use the magnifying glass icon from the Guide, or press Y on your controller from anywhere in the console interface.
Adjust sleep mode active hours in your Xbox console’s power options
You can change your power settings whenever you want, by going to Settings > General > Power Options. If you select Shut down (power saving) mode, you will enable carbon-aware updates for your Xbox. By opting for Standby mode, you can now define the time range during which your console will turn on more quickly and the time during which you want it to turn off completely. When your active hours are over, the console will shut down and use only 0.5W instead of the 10-15W needed for Sleep mode.
After the April Update, if you have the Sleep power option selected on your Xbox, you will be able to configure active hours on your console. The default option will be “always on”, until you change it. During set active hours, your Xbox will boot faster and be able to use features like remote play and installing titles from the mobile app.
