XDefiant finally gives good news, Ubisoft speaks

XDefiant finally gives us some news and it’s pretty good! Ubisoft breaks the silence and responds to the general concern, or almost. In any case, we see a little more clearly.

It’s a bit (a lot) of chaos at Ubisoft, which seems to be in trouble with its next big free-to-play FPS. The rumors are multiplying and bringing up not very happy echoes. Toxic atmosphere, difficult work, incomprehensible last minute change of plans… it’s a little difficult to understand how everything could have gone wrong when XDefiant had already convinced the players during its various test phases. That’s always what bothers Ubisoft, one step forward, two steps back, it’s almost systematic.

However, we love our French publisher, recently, he has even blessed us with several nice surprises like Prince of Persia The Lost Crown or Avatar Frontiers of Pandora. XDefiant was also well on its way to becoming one of the company’s best games, but the game has been playing coy for a while now. Well, until now.

No, XDefiant is not dead, on the contrary

While the rumors in the corridors are rife and predict chaos, Ubisoft has decided to speak out to reassure players a little. In a long message published on his social networks, XDefiant talks about his plans, and assures us that everything is going well.
The game begins by reaffirming that its development is progressing well and that it still aims to become a game that listens to its community, this would also be what would currently be the cause of internal changes. Ubi tells us that initially, the game was planned for the end of March, but that it will ultimately not see the light of day, we understood that well. “There are several adjustments we need to test before launch” warns the message.

We will soon be able to play Ubisoft’s FPS, but…

XDefiant is indeed in the middle of a tweaking session, it remains to be seen what. On this, we have no information, but Ubisoft still gives us good news in its message on X. Its multiplayer FPS should soon be playable again for a short stress test session, with the aim of testing the servers one final time before release. “We need all the important data to prepare for the launch” Ubi says.

The studio therefore invites you to come and play XDefiant en masse on PS5, Xbox Series and PC. Bad luck, we don’t have a date or time yet. The message ends simply with thanks and a final sentence to reassure the crowds: “After this test [sans date donc]we hope to be able to set a release date and start sharing exciting details about what to expect in XDefiant.”

Ubisoft does not seem to want to get too involved and if it is good news to learn that the game is alive and well and that it will soon be playable, the opacity around the date of the event is cause for concern . Wait and see as they say, but it is a shame to see so much mess for a game which was off to such a good start and which, above all, had already managed to convince fans of competitive FPS who were already talking about Call of Duty Killr.
