After many years of development, Ubisoft San Francisco launched last May XDefiant, its multiplayer shooter game with characters from its many franchises. Officially, the title is a success with 11 million players, but according to some rumors, XDefiant has reportedly already deserted and an ultimatum has been given..
Players are having fun on the Season 1there Season 2 will be launched on September 25th and the developers reveal From now on there roadmap for theYear 1which will have a total of four Seasonswith new factions, maps, weapons, game modes, and a bunch of other new features. But the studio also takes the floor to discuss the state of the game. XDefiant does indeed suffer from issues with netcode/hitregparticularly frustrating in FPS competitive. Developers already have ideas for improving the problem, including increasing the packets sent to servers and using lighter and therefore more responsive network protocols. The studio hopes to have significant improvements towards the end of the Season 2or even before.
Finally, Ubisoft San Francisco speaks frankly about the rumors surrounding XDefiantwho claimed that the game was going to die. The studio wants to be reassuring and claims that “the game is absolutely not dying”he has this problem of netcode to be fixed and he needs to add more content, but he has the support ofUbisoftwho even “allocated more resources to the team.” This is reassuring, at least if this statement reflects the internal reality.
