Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Keves and Agnus, nations that represent the two previous games?

The next J-RPG of the Switch has offered a presentation just for him and which has been rich in information, however Monolith Soft continues to gratify us with small tweets always providing more details on what Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will have in store for us. In our article of the day, we come back to the two factions with the various information we have.

Keves and Agnus, two opposing nations

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 takes place in the world of Aionios where the incessant battles reign between the two nations that are presented in the various trailers.

On one side we have Keves, a nation that uses technology and who owns combat vehicles. In this faction, we can find three of our heroes, but also other characters that we list below. Some of them may not be playable, but they still matter since they have some importance and have been put in trailers.

  • Noah
  • Eunie
  • Lanz
  • Ethel
  • Riku
  • Valdi
  • Zeon
  • Ashera
  • Queen of Keves

Another important piece of information about Keves is that we know that they have at least two colonies since Zeon and Ethel are the commanders of them. We thus find a name of camps such as they head in the first opus.

Although there is very little information about the queen of Keves, some fans think it might be Meliaone of the heroines of the first game of the saga.

If Keves uses technology instead, on the side of nation of Agnuswe find something more traditional since it is ether that enables soldiers to fight. The known characters of this people are more numerous than those of Keves at the present time. You can find the list below.

  • Mio
  • Sena
  • taion
  • Manana
  • Fiona
  • Yuzuriha
  • Alexandria
  • isurd
  • Cammurav
  • Queen of Agnus

If the name of the colonies is classic on the side of Keves, for those of Agnus, we start with slightly different names since they take up the letters of the Greek alphabet. At the moment, we only know of four. Here they are :

  • Gamma Colony
  • Delta Colony
  • Lambda Colony
  • Iota colony

Regarding the queen of Agnus, fans think it’s about Niaone of the heroines of Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

With one nation oriented towards technology and the other towards ether, we therefore have two very different styles and we could have a rather interesting conclusion if ever the two queens were really Melia and Nia. Indeed, if, if necessary, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 had as leaders of two nations former heroines of previous games, we could almost conclude that the notion of bound future is in fact an opposition between the worldview of the former and that of the latter.

Keves and Agnus: differences that are felt in the gameplay

The differences between the two nations do not stop there since the gameplay also has the right to get involved in this little war. In battle, your protagonists will have the right to use skills called “Arts”. To activate one, you must charge the corresponding gauge. This is where the nations come in since depending on your affiliation, you will have a different way of recharging your Art.

  • A hero coming from Keves will have to wait for the gauge to fill up on its own like the cooldown of a first Xenoblade Chronicles of the name.
  • A hero coming from Agnus will have to tap with his auto-attacks to fill it as is the case in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Here again, we can come back to our hypothesis seen previously since this new element further reinforces this separation between Agnus which is inspired by Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Keves which is inspired by Xenoblade Chronicles.

Agnus and Keves, two nations for a common goal?

To finish and not leave you on a hypothesis that can make you think, we will all the same address the fact that in the end the two nations end up having a common point since the Consulate seems to dictate the rules and in the end, our protagonists become targets for both peoples. Moreover, it should not be forgotten that soldiers from both sides must attend the Great Return ceremony with their respective Queen once the 10 periods have passed.

In conclusion of this article, we can’t wait to be able to play the game and thus discover what it has in store for us. The hypothesis we talked about may be probable, but the title of Monolith Soft can offer us another vision of things, but we will have to wait until July 29 to discover the end of this story.
