Let’s start the owner’s tour with the XG7 and XG5, which replace the Xboom Go PL7 and PL5 respectively. They radically change their design for a more cubic design, but they keep their two passive radiators surrounded by a multicolored lighting system. On the top is a series of buttons used for powering on, pairing or volume management among others. Both models are both IP67 certified (therefore waterproof) and can be managed through the LG Xboom mobile app. Added to this is Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity with support for multipoint functionality.

XG7

The XG7 weighs 1.1 kg and measures 26.1 x 9.8 x 9.5 cm. It is equipped with a 5.3 x 9.3 cm elliptical wideband speaker supported by a 2 cm dome tweeter. It promises 24 hours of battery life and has a USB-C port for charging, a mini-jack input and a USB-A port to allow charging of an external device such as a smartphone. The XG7 is expected for the month of September at a price of 199 €.

LG Xboom Go XG7

The XG5 is more modest both in terms of its dimensions and its acoustic architecture and the number of connectors provided. It weighs 700 g for a volume of 22.2 x 8.3 x 8 cm. It loses the tweeter of the XG7 and is content with a single elliptical wideband loudspeaker of 4.2 x 8 cm. It also loses the USB-A port but retains the mini-jack input and the USB-C port. Autonomy is also at half mast with a promise of 18 hours per charge. Launched at €149, the XG5 should be available at the same time as the XG7.

Presented very timidly, the XG9 competes with the JBL Boombox and Sony XG-500. Due to its substantial dimensions and weight, the XG9 undoubtedly falls into the category of portable speakers. It has a handle for easy transport. The speaker is also IP67 certified and therefore resistant to dust and temporary immersion in water.

Inside there is 1 tweeter mounted on a cone-shaped architecture allowing a homogeneous diffusion of the treble. The XG9 is also equipped with a technology called “Stage Lightning” which makes it possible to manage potential reflections on the walls in order to offer a coherent soundstage. The tweeter is supported by 2 broadband loudspeakers as well as 2 passive radiators. On the autonomy side, the XG9 promises 24 hours of operation per charge.

The XG9 should be marketed at the end of September at a price of 499 €.

LG XO3

LG XO3

Replacing the RP4, the XO3 differs greatly from the other speakers presented. With a more sedentary look, and quite bulky (it weighs 3.2 kg and measures 16.5 x 32.7 x 16.5 cm) it is nonetheless transportable with its handle on the top and its integrated battery promising 20 hours of autonomy. It can therefore be moved from the house to the garden without any worries, especially since with its IP54 certification it is able to withstand water splashes.

The XO3 is also perfectly equipped to be the center of your evenings thanks to its play of light and its 360° diffusion. Indeed, the arrangement of the loudspeakers would allow the enclosure to diffuse the sound in a homogeneous way all around it. We thus find a 2.5 cm diameter tweeter placed on the top, a 5.2 cm speaker responsible for the reproduction of the mediums also oriented upwards and a 10.2 cm speaker for the bass reproduction. The XO3 also features an automatic physiological equalization system that allows the sound reproduction to remain more or less the same regardless of the listening volume level.

In addition to Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity and support for the multipoint function, the XO3 offers a mini jack input as well as a USB-C port for charging. The loudspeaker can also be paired with a second XO3 to obtain stereo rendering and up to a hundred others in “Party” mode. These pairing options are also available with the XG Series loudspeakers shown above.

The XO3 will be available from early September at a price of €299.
