The young influencer Xiao Qiumei is said to have suddenly plummeted and died while shooting a TikTok video that took place on a crane.

The Chinese influencer Xiao Qiumei, † 23, is dead. Over 100,000 followers: she gave an insight into her everyday life as a crane operator and mother of two via TikTok. But now the young woman died in a tragic accident: she fell from a crane from a height of 50 meters.

Xiao Qiumei († 23): Dramatic fall from the crane

Xiao Qiumei worked on a construction site in Quzhou, a city in western China’s Zhejiang Province. When she finished work, Xiao Qiumei allegedly got out of the crane’s cab, slipped off a step of the ladder, and fell. According to eyewitnesses, she was holding her cell phone when the tragedy struck, as reported by “The Sun”.

Unthinkable for Qiumei’s family. She vehemently denies the information and is certain that the 23-year-old would not have filmed under any circumstances during the descent. In addition, the influencer was professional and conscientious and always kept her phone in her pocket when she worked as a crane operator. This is also confirmed by Qiumei’s colleagues, the majority of whom were no longer on the construction site at the time of the fall.

What happened?

Xiao Qiumei’s Tiktok account can no longer be found, but a video is circulating on the Internet that supposedly comes from the moment of the accident. In the recording, which is also available to “Sun”, you can see the young woman in the driver’s cab smiling, singing and dancing into the camera. After a cut, the devastating misfortune follows. Xiao Qiumei presumably filmed herself after work, but how exactly the fall came about remains unclear. In the end, it doesn’t matter whether the family or the eyewitnesses are right. A young woman died too early and leaves behind two young children.
