The Xiaomi 12 is soon official, and we already know a lot about what the Chinese manufacturer is preparing for us.

The launch in China of the Xiaomi 12 is scheduled for December 28, 2021. It should then be marketed in Europe early next year.

Visuals and documents shared by the brand to the press have leaked, giving us a good overview of the technical characteristics of the smartphone.

For this generation, the manufacturer is focusing on a compact format by drastically reducing the size of the diagonal of the AMOLED screen, which drops to 6.28 inches. Xiaomi boasts of offering a larger panel than the iPhone 13, but in a smaller device (69.9mm wide) thanks to very thin bezels.

The display will be Full HD + (2400 x 1080 pixels) with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, as well as support for HDR10 + and Dolby Vision standards.

Efficient charging

The smartphone is of course powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, accompanied by 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage space. Autonomy is entrusted to a 4,500 mAh battery which can be recharged very quickly: up to 67 W wired and 30 W wireless.

The 50 MP main photo sensor has a size of 1 / 1.28 “, an aperture of f / 1.9, a pixel size of 1.22 µm and takes advantage of optical stabilization. The module uses the pixel binning to merge five pixels into one and take brighter 12MP photos. This sensor is associated with a 123 ° ultra wide-angle of 13 MP and a telephoto lens allowing a zoom x3, without indication on the nature of this one.

The Xiaomi 12 will be launched under MIUI 13, based on Android 12. In China, it will be available from the equivalent of 513 euros (8/128 GB), but can go up to 555 euros in 8/256 GB and 610 euros in 12/256 GB. Of course, French prices will be higher.
