Xiaomi 13, 13 Pro, 13 Ultra: finally a presentation date for smartphones stamped Leica

It is a series of smartphones highly anticipated at the end of the year. The Xiaomi 13, including a “classic” model, but also a Pro version and an Ultra version, were to be made official on December 1st. But due to the national mourning respected in China following the death of former President Jiang Zemin, the event had been postponed to an unspecified date.

The manufacturer had not yet sent invitations to speak of a new conference, contenting itself with asking interested people to register on its site to be informed quickly of its communications, but its mobile application has taken the lead. Users of the Weibo social network indeed share screenshots of the app, on which we can read that the presentation of smartphones will take place on Sunday, December 11 at 7 p.m. (Chinese time), or at noon French time.

Taking the lead from its December 1 conference, Xiaomi had already started revealing some features of its upcoming smartphones. We already knew, following the Qualcomm event in November, that the series would be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but it was the photography that benefited from a spotlight. The Xiaomi 13 will indeed be stamped Leica, a partner of the manufacturer for a few months, all supported, at the hardware level, by Sony’s IMX989 on Pro and Ultra smartphones. The 1-inch type sensor had already been seen on the 12S Ultra, reserved for the Chinese market. Let’s add that on the 13 Pro, Xiaomi evokes a variable focal length of 75 mm, while it will be fixed on the Xiaomi 13. In short, tempting new features, the details of which you will be able to find in our columns from next week.

Finally, note that Huawei had also planned a conference last week, which was similarly postponed. The brand, which was to present new connected watches in particular, has not yet revealed the date on which its event will finally be held.
