Xiaomi will launch two new high-end smartphones next month, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. The latter should follow in the footsteps of their predecessors by offering a very high-end technical sheet.
As Qualcomm prepares to unveil its new high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip on November 15, Xiaomi will launch the first smartphones equipped with the chip, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. Just before the official release of the devices in China, we already know what the most expensive model should look like.
Twitter leaker @That_Kartikey has teamed up with artist @SPinfo_blog to create renders of the upcoming Xiaomi 13 Pro, based on all the information that has come out so far. The designer notes that the renders are about 85% accurate, so huge changes aren’t expected on the final builds. We are therefore entitled to a Xiaomi 13 Pro with a design quite different from the previous generation, especially in terms of the photo module. The latter changes shape to arrange the cameras in a “P” shape, rather than aligning them vertically.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro should bet everything on the photo
Since the release of the recent Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro and 12S Ultra, the Chinese manufacturer has partnered with the German expert Leica for the photo part of its smartphones. This partnership will continue well on the Xiaomi 13, and we can also see the “Leica” logo at the bottom right of the photo module. The smartphone should use three different cameras, but still no periscope. The latter will always be reserved for the Ultra model.
Like the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro before them, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will adopt two different formats. The more compact Xiaomi 13 is expected to be slightly larger than the previous generation with a 6.36-inch 120Hz OLED display, compared to the Xiaomi 12’s 6.28 inches. 6.73-inch curved LTPO 2.0 120Hz OLED display.
Several reports had claimed that Xiaomi was going to adopt flexible screens on its smartphones this time around, which would allow it to standardize the borders all around the screen. Thus, like the Nothing Phone (1), the Galaxy S22 or even the most recent iPhones, all borders should be the same size. We do not currently see the smartphone screen on the renderings, sinceIt remains to be determined whether Xiaomi has achieved this feat on its Pro model and its curved screen.
