Will Xiaomi take a little ahead of its usual schedule? While its 13 series already has a successful Pro model and an ambitious Ultra version marketed in Europe, it is the “T” version of its smartphones that we are already hearing about. And while the 12T range came to complete the Xiaomi 12 in October 2022, its heiress could very well be formalized as early as September.
THE leaker Snoopy Tech, as mysterious as it is generally well-informed, for its part publishes part of the expected technical sheet of the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro. The two smartphones, like the 12T before them, should according to him be equipped with AMOLED screens – probably 6.67 inches, like the 12T – whose refresh rate would no longer be limited to 120 Hz, but would reach 144 Hz .
The two smartphones would therefore clearly target gamers, especially since they would be equipped with high-end “4 nm SoCs”. This could also correspond to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the 13T Pro, essential in this area, as well as to the Dimensity 9200 from MediaTek, tipped for the 13T – thus succeeding the Dimensity 8100 of the Xiaomi 12T. On the RAM side, there is talk of 8 GB included in the 13T and 12 GB within the 13T Pro, while the smartphones would carry 256 and 512 GB of storage respectively.
Added to these characteristics are unsurprising forecasts, since the leaks count on the integration of a 5000 mAh battery in each smartphone, associated with a charge of 67 W for the 13T, and 120 W for the 13T Pro; only the 13T would lose, since the 12T benefited from a 120 W charge. This decline would however be offset by a major improvement: according to SnoopyTech, the two smartphones would be co-developed with Leica. Partner of Xiaomi since 2022, the photography specialist is already at work on the 13 series (models 13, 13 Pro and 13 Ultra). The 13Ts would therefore be the first slightly more affordable smartphones to take advantage of the German’s expertise. However, the sensors and optics fitted to the two smartphones remain to be defined.
The Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro are expected running MiUI 14, with Android 13, starting September 1. Their respective price could be around £599 (around €699) and £799 (around €930), a marked increase if compared to the 12T series, whose Pro model had debuted from 799 €.
