  • The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will lead the Chinese smartphone lineup in 2023.
  • A successor to the popular Xiaomi Pad 5 is also expected.
  • Very little is known about the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 so far.

The year 2022 was not easy for Xiaomi! Smartphone sales fell – especially in Europe. The manufacturer rarely lived up to its image of being a guarantee for great value for money. Inflation also forced Xiaomi to raise prices – something with the Xiaomi 12T Pro.

Fans in this country were also annoyed that many coveted smartphones did not find their way to Europe – such as the Xiaomi 12s Ultra with a Leica camera. But as the saying goes: new year, new luck.

Of course, whether Xiaomi will turn around in 2023 also depends on the upcoming products. Let’s take a look at what the rumor mill says Xiaomi has “in the pipeline” for the new year.

Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro

A comparatively large amount is already known about Xiaomi’s latest smartphones for 2023. Because the Xiaomi 13 was already presented in China for the local market together with its stronger brother, the 13 Pro. It is still unclear when the devices will also be sold in Europe in 2023.

However, the experience of recent years shows that a release for the European market can always be expected around three months later, in the spring following the release for the Chinese market. The expected prices are also still unclear: Due to various taxes and fees, these will be significantly higher than the converted prices in China.

Probably the biggest innovation compared to the current Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro: The successor models are said to have the even more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor installed. It is not surprising that Xiaomi makes this decision, but it is welcome. The display is said to be an OLED panel with 6.36 inches or 6.73 inches on the larger model.

In addition, all devices in the Xiaomi 13 series of the new models should be certified according to IP68. The new design, which looks very similar to the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) with its polished, angular stainless steel frame and square camera cutout, is very striking from the outside.
