Xiaomi has just presented its brand new connected bracelet, which strongly resembles an Apple Watch. Rather than an oval design as on previous generations, the bracelet adopts a square shape.
Several months after the launch of the Xiaomi Band 8, the most popular connected bracelet on the market, the Chinese manufacturer is back in force with a new “Pro” version with improved specifications. It is the direct successor to the Xiaomi Band 7 Pro of the previous year, and uses the same rectangular format, but with a larger screen.
Indeed, Xiaomi adopts this time a 1.74 inch OLED panel with a definition of 480 x 336 pixels for a resolution of 336 pixels. The screen provides a 60 Hz refresh as well as a 600 cd/m² brightnesswhich is enough to make it readable even in broad daylight.
The Xiaomi Band 8 Pro looks like Apple Watch
With its more square design than previous bracelets, the Xiaomi Band 8 Pro looks like an Apple Watch connected watch. Xiaomi offers a wide variety of rubber straps in several colors, but also fabric or leather straps. Personalization is in the spotlight on this generation, the Chinese manufacturer also offering more than 1000 different dials in the interface.
During its conference, Xiaomi announced that it had improved the accuracy of the heart sensor by 10%, and that of the tracking of the menstrual cycle by 5%. It may not seem like much, but any improvement is welcome. Finally, note that the dial is 9.9 mm thick and the watch weighs only 22.5 grams. You can also count on water resistance up to 50 meters deep.
For the moment, the Xiaomi Band 8 Pro was only unveiled in China alongside the new Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 foldable smartphone, but it should soon arrive in France. We should probably expect a release from us next month, on the occasion of the launch of the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro. The bracelet is currently marketed at 399 yuan, or just over 50 euros, but we can expect a price of almost 100 euros here.
