Xiaomi: Manufacturer presents “Snapdragon Tamer” for 11 euros

The Snapdragon 8 Gen processors from the US manufacturer Qualcomm are among the most powerful chipsets for cell phones. But the high performance also has downsides. As a result, more and more waste heat is generated in small mobile phones, which has to be removed so that the mobile phone does not overheat. Manufacturers such as OnePlus and Co. have developed sophisticated cooling systems for this in recent years. But now Xiaomi presents a simple and cheap solution to the problem.

The manufacturer’s “Snapdragon Tamer” costs the equivalent of 11 euros and can be attached if necessary and removed just as easily. It’s actually a cell phone case. It should be able to reduce the temperature of the cell phone by up to 4 degrees Celsius.

This is how the case works

As the phone’s temperature rises, the composite material quickly absorbs the heat and “melts”, reducing the phone’s peak temperature, Gizmochina describes how it works. This should enable the cell phone to run longer under full load at full power.
