The Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G is 76.1 millimeters (mm) wide, 164.2 mm long and 8.1 mm thin without a camera. The stately smartphone weighs 204 grams. This is of course mainly due to the 6.67-inch OLED display, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Black level, contrast and viewing angles should leave nothing to be desired. The sharpness is also good at 2400×1080 pixels. The maximum screen change frequency is a fast 120 Hertz, which ensures a smooth display. The sampling rate of 360 Hertz also delights gamers. Poco promises a maximum brightness of 1,200 candelas per square meter. That would be really good. The fingerprint sensor is on the side. Alternatively, unlock with face recognition. The mobile phone is protected against splash water according to IP53. This provides a minimum level of protection against dust and liquids. With the low certification, however, it is not considered to be really waterproof.
Poco X4 Pro 5G with triple camera
The Poco X4 Pro 5G has three lenses on the back.
The main camera (f/1.9) has a resolution of up to 108 megapixels (MP). For standard shots, 9 pixels are combined (9-in-1 pixel binning) to create a 12 MP photo. There is also an ultra-wide-angle lens (f/2.2) with 8 MP and a shooting angle of 118 degrees and a short-sighted macro camera (f/2.4) with 2 MP. The selfie camera (f/2.4) is in a circular recess in the display and has a resolution of 16 MP.

In the Poco X4 Pro 5G, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 with 5G provides speed. The processor is manufactured using the 6-nanometer process and has an eight-core CPU with two cores (ARM Cortex A78) clocking at up to 2.2 gigahertz and 6 cores (ARM Cortex A55) clocking at up to 1.8 gigahertz . The Poco X4 Pro 5G is available with 6 gigabytes of RAM (LPDDR4X) and 128 gigabytes of device memory (UFS 2.2) or in the large configuration with 8/256 gigabytes. The memory can be expanded using a hybrid slot. So only a second SIM card for dual SIM operation or memory expansion is possible.

The Poco X4 Pro comes in the colors “Poco Yellow”, “Laser Black” and “Laser Blue”. It will be available from March 2nd. With 6/128 GB it costs 299.90 euros (RRP). The large memory variant with 8/256 GB costs 349.90 euros. As is typical for Poco, there are cheaper “Early Bird” offers: If you order from March 2nd at 1 p.m., you will get the devices for 269.90 or 319.90 euros. The promotion is valid “while stocks last” and at most until March 7th at 1:00 p.m.
Assessment: Poco X4 Pro 5G
The Poco X4 Pro 5G offers more of everything than the Poco M series. The additional price compared to the Poco M4 Pro is reasonable at 70 euros. With 5G, 120 Hertz OLED, 108 megapixel camera and comparatively fast Snapdragon, it could be an interesting device if you look around in terms of price well below the upper class, but expect strong technology.
