Xiaomi Redmi Buds 4 Pro: headphones with 3D spatialization for less than 100 €

During its fall conference, Xiaomi presented many products including two new pairs of headphones true-wireless with active noise reduction: Redmi Buds 4 Pro and Redmi Buds 4. The frenetic pace of Xiaomi’s releases in both the smartphone and headphone market true-wireless enough to make you lose your head. This is all the more true here because Buds 4 Pro were already the subject of a presentation last August and it can be easy to confuse them with the Redmi Buds 4 Pro as their names are so similar.

These Redmi Buds 4 Pro are, however, much more sober in their aesthetic approach than the shimmering Buds 4 Pro. Indeed, the Redmi Buds 4 Pro are greatly inspired by the solid Buds 3T Pro, especially in terms of their design with a branch directed towards the mouth of the user. But the similarities don’t end there: the Redmi Buds 4 Pro have 3D audio functionality with head movement tracking and promise excessive noise reduction of up to 43 dB.

The Redmi Buds 4 Pro differ from other Xiaomi headphones by integrating a dual speaker architecture (one 10 mm and one 6 mm) which is becoming the norm in several “top of the line” models. range” of certain manufacturers (Soundcore Liberty 4, Honor Earbuds 3 Pro, etc.). Embedding a Bluetooth 5.3 chip, the Redmi Buds 4 Pro support multipoint functionality and are compatible with the LDAC codec, failing LHDC 4.0 as was the case with the Buds 3T Pro.

IP54 certified, the Redmi Buds 4 Pro promise a battery life of nine hours per charge without active noise reduction and up to three additional charges thanks to the case. The headphones are already available at a price of 99 €.

Alongside these new Redmi Buds 4 Pro was presented a more modest model: the Redmi Buds 4. Taking a design similar to the Buds 3 Pro, the Redmi Buds 4 have a single 10 mm speaker, a Bluetooth chip of older generation (version 5.2) and are not compatible with the LDAC codec. Like the Redmi Buds 4 Pro, the Redmi Buds 4 have an active noise reduction function, but which should be less effective than that of their colleagues since it is based on two microphones compared to three on the Redmi Buds 4 Pro . Xiaomi still announces a crazy attenuation of up to 35 dB.

The autonomy is also revised downwards with a promise of six hours per charge with an additional 24 hours thanks to the case. The Redmi Buds 4 are also now available, but this time at a price of 70 €.
