Xiaomi Redmi Buds 5 Pro: attractive true wireless headphones

399 yuan, or €51 excluding taxes. This is the price of the new Redmi Buds 5 Pro, announced this November 29 by Xiaomi along with a host of other products. These true wireless headphones with active noise reduction make an excellent impression thanks to high-end specifications and an aggressive price placement… even if no launch in Europe has yet been mentioned.

Among the main arguments in their favor, the Redmi Buds 5 Pro are equipped with dual 10 and 11 mm transducers, and support for the LDHC 5.0 codec, offered alongside compatibility with the Hi-Res Audio Wireless standard.

Another advantage is their noise reduction technology which could reach 52 dB of attenuation thanks to the presence of three microphones on each earphone. A very good promise when we know that the Sony WF-1000XM5, the best students in the field, hardly achieve 35 dB reduction.

Compatible with both iOS and Android, the Redmi Buds 5 Pro also support Xiaomi’s HyperConnect communication protocol, and are also Bluetooth LE Audio compatible. Xiaomi announces a battery life of 10 hours for its new headphones, but without noise reduction. Endurance increased to 38 hours (still without RBA) if we take into account the charging case.

The Chinese brand has finally unveiled a special edition of its Redmi Buds 5 Pro. Designed for gamers, the latter is accompanied by a USB-C adapter allowing you to switch to a 2.4 GHz wireless signal like gaming headsets… but also to halve the latency (20 ms against 43 ms when this dongle is unplugged). Announced for its part at 499 yuan (around €64 excluding tax), this e-sport version is also compatible with the LDHC Lossless codec, and benefits from an exclusive black/orange color.
