The fitness tracker Xiaomi Smart Band 6 is the entry point into the world of Xiaomi and the world of fitness trackers for many customers in this country. No wonder, because hardly any other model on the market offers so many functions in such a compact device with such a large display for less than 50 euros.
Xiaomi now wants to continue this trend and presented the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 at the Discover Xiaomi event in Paris. The predecessor is to be trumped with a larger display, improved workout features and health monitoring. You can find out whether this works in the short test here.

processing and design
The Xiaomi Smart Band 7 looks almost identical to its predecessor. A narrow strip of TPU as a bracelet, with the actual watch embedded in it – this well-known sight has not been shaken.

There are improvements to the display. The AMOLED display has been enlarged again and now measures 1.62 inches diagonally. This provides a better overview and lets you use the tracker a little more comfortably.
The watch is water-resistant up to 5ATM for the right amount of endurance and safety in every sport. This does not mean that it is completely waterproof, but it will be sufficient for bathing and swimming.

As with its predecessors, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 gives ambitious athletes and those who want to become one a small coach on their wrist. Over 110 sports should be able to be recognized.
There is also extensive health tracking, which includes heart rate, blood oxygen and sleep. A new addition is the VO2 max analysis, which keeps an eye on the maximum oxygen uptake during training.
A detailed test has to prove whether these many functions in everyday sports work as well as they sound. However, the scope tops the already extensive portfolio of the predecessor. As with the predecessor, however, it does not have its own GPS tracker.
The watch is primarily aimed at (hobby) athletes, but they also receive a WhatsApp message or a call from time to time. The basic functions are included here and make the tracker a useful companion for everyday use. However, a paired smartphone is then mandatory.
battery life
The battery life of the bracelet is given as 14 days. However, this always depends on what activities you do with the watch. Because the specified time was also given as around 14 days for the predecessor, but in our test it was only 5. Here, too, we will be convinced of a better one in a test.
price and availability
The Xiaomi Smart Band 7 will be available from June 22 for 59.99 euros. At the start you can get the tracker in the early bird offer for 49.99 euros.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 7 builds on the strengths of its predecessor and improves the tracker in the right places. A larger display, more fitness modes and a long battery life already sound promising. We will assess whether it can meet these expectations in practice in the detailed test. There were other innovations at the Xiaomi Discover event in Paris, such as a new e-scooter from the brand.
