With the Poco X4 Pro, Xiaomi is placing the next smartphone in the entry-level segment. But you shouldn’t let that fool you, because technically the smartphone has a lot to offer. In the test, the display and the long battery life of 13:21 hours are real highlights. But the equipment is also very good with 5G, two SIM slots, Bluetooth 5.1 and NFC. In the WiFi area, however, the model only offers WiFi ac (WiFi 5). For the price, however, that’s tolerable. The camera quality is okay overall, but the software tends to heavily trace the photos.
Our conclusion at the time of testing:
“The Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G also has to hold its own against its good and, above all, inexpensive predecessor in the test. The image quality of the camera has improved both in daylight and in low light – but still struggles with visible sharpening in some cases. A significant improvement can be found in the display, because Xiaomi now uses a colorful OLED panel for the Poco X4 Pro 5G. The equipment also scores with innovations such as a 5G module and the latest Bluetooth. The battery life is very strong. You have to accept losses in terms of performance, which is good but not spectacular. On the other hand, we find the price of the mid-range smartphone attractive.“
