Xiaomi recently announced the arrival in India of a new model of Redmi Note 11. This time it will come without a charger.

While Apple has been marketing its smartphones without a charger for a while and some brands like Samsung and Sony have followed in its footsteps, Chinese manufacturers are resisting. But things could quickly change.

Yesterday (August 25, 2022), Xiaomi formalized the release of the Redmi Note 11 SE in India. Fans of the brand who scrutinized its technical sheet on the official site could see that the charger usually delivered was not there.

Reducing the size of iPhone boxes has also reduced shipping costs for the manufacturer.

In the tab Contents of the box, we discover of course the smartphone, but this one is only accompanied by a warranty card, a start guide, a shell, a SIM card extractor and a USB Type cable. -VS. No mention of a charging block is present. It can hardly be a mistake since all of the other smartphones sold on the said site have it.

It will certainly be necessary to wait to find out if this Redmi Note 11 SE is a special case or not. If this were to become standard for future models, then beyond India’s borders, it would confirm that the firm’s strategy has changed. Xiaomi could therefore be the first Chinese giant to follow in the footsteps of Apple and Samsung, which justify their approach with a concern for ecology – this did not prevent the Cupertino company from making nice profits in the process.

Xiaomi, however, focuses a significant part of its marketing on ultra-fast charging. This is particularly the case of the Xiaomi 11T Pro, accompanied by an impressive 120 W charging block. It would be surprising if the chargers were not delivered on these specific models. It therefore remains to wait for the next releases from the manufacturer to confirm a general trend or not.
