We have just learned disturbing news about Xiaomi. Indeed, the Instagram accounts of many French Xiaomi Stores announce their sudden closure. All of the Chinese manufacturer’s stores have ceased their activities in France since this Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 5 p.m.according to an employee’s Facebook post.
According to his statement, all shops in France are affected by this measure, with the exception of that of the Champs-Elysées, which moreover acts more as a showcase for the brand’s products than anything else.
In other words, customers who used to go to a Xiaomi Store to use after-sales services will now have to must go through the Xiaomi website. Obviously, of the 7 Xiaomi Stores listed in France on the firm’s official website, six are therefore closing their doorsleaving behind dozens of employees.

Xiaomi suddenly closes its stores in France
In detail, this sudden closure therefore concerns the shops of:

- Lyons
- Velizy 2
- Sebastopol (Paris)
- Halles Forum (Paris)
- Lille
According to the statements of this employee in the comments of his publication, he affirms that the procedure was linked at breakneck speed, the closure having been decreed shortly before its entry into force. Worse still, the Chinese company has given no explanation and for now, the employees concerned are in the most total vagueness.
As can be seen on the Instagram posts of the various French Xiaomi Stores, Xiaomi’s customer service can still be reached for any request concerning a file in progress at the following number: 0 805 37 09 16.
We have attempted to contact Xiaomi in hopes of getting an official statement on the matter. For now, we are waiting for their return and we will obviously update this article as soon as we know more. In addition, we tried to get in touch with an employee concerned. According to him, he will not be able to say anything until he receives his dismissal letter.
It should be noted that after conducting some research, the company in charge of Xiaomi Store stores in France had been in receivership since July 2022. However, no buyer has come forward to resume the activity.
