Xiaomi surprises mobile phone owners: new top smartphone is better than expected

Xiaomi recently introduced three new Android smartphones that are only intended for China. The technology that is used there will in all probability also be integrated in the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 13, which are also sold by us. It is all the more gratifying that the Chinese company has positively surprised in one area.

Xiaomi 12S Ultra with surprisingly good battery life

Actually, the 4,860 mAh battery of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is nothing special. It’s not overly large, nor is it incredibly fast to charge. And yet buyers are enthusiastic about the battery life. Xiaomi has received a lot of positive feedback on the Weibo social network. The runtime is longer than many would expect given the size of the battery. Responsible for this is the “Surge P1” processor, which only takes care of the battery of the smartphone (source: ITHome).

Xiaomi has based the “Surge P1” processor for the battery on the battery management system (BMS) for electric cars. This brings three key advantages over other smartphones:

  • Battery life more predictable
  • Battery safety and health improved
  • Battery life extended

It’s not just that the battery life is better and you can better estimate how long the smartphone will last through a more precise prediction of the remaining battery life, but the battery simply lasts longer over its entire lifetime. The “Surge P1” processor always keeps an eye on the battery and ensures that it is charged moved within an optimal usage window without being overloaded.

What else the Xiaomi 12S Ultra can do:

Xiaomi 13 also with battery processor?

Now we can’t test for ourselves whether the battery life of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is really as good as the fans on social networks claim. The smartphone is not coming to Germany. We are all the more excited about a Xiaomi 12T or Xiaomi 13, which should be presented this year. Both a Leica camera and the “Surge P1” processor could be used there.
