In 2021, Xiaomi released its first oil-free fryer. A product that few people could claim to be waiting for… This first iteration seems to have had enough success to motivate Xiaomi to launch an improved version: the Smart Air Fryer Pro 4 L.
An intelligent evolution in continuity
The Xiaomi Smart Air Fryer is an oil-free connected fryer, just like the products offered by competitors specializing in small household appliances such as Moulinex or Philips. This is to offer a result similar to that of a conventional fryer with little or no added oil.
It is in fact an oven cooking whose air flows are designed to provide uniform and crispy cooking. The technology used by Xiaomi is also identical to that of the oil-free fryers marketed by Philips. It also uses its main features for its design.
A fairly elegant product, with a pretty lacquered white shell that should capture fingerprints much less well than the black version. A small OLED screen is integrated into the control dial on the front, just below the power button. However, it will be easier to use the Xiaomi Home application which allows you to program and choose the type of cooking, to be alerted at the end of cooking or when you have to intervene in the progress of a recipe.
You can even start it or launch a recipe with a voice assistant like Google Home.
Connectivity is not just for controlling the fryer via your smartphone. It also gives access to a recipe library. Moreover, if the fryer is capable of cooking at a maximum temperature of 200 ° C, it also has a low temperature cooking mode. Thus, by positioning itself between 40 and 80°, it turns into a yogurt maker, allows you to dry fruit or defrost delicately.
The Xiaomi Smart Air Fryer Pro 4L offers, as its name suggests, a cooking volume of 4 L compared to 3.5 L for the Smart Fryer. The power is also greater, from 1500 W to 1600 W. The main novelty is a glass front on the cooking basket. This makes it possible to follow the cooking live, and thus to monitor its progress without having to take out the cooking basket. An LED lights up when you need it for better visibility. It will also be delivered with a grill for baking tartlets or quiches on two levels.
A fryer that is perfected by small touches that turn out to be practical and that we will test shortly. It is available in white at a price of 149 euros on the Xiaomi site and partner resellers like Amazon.
