Xiaomi: New folding cell phone and more announced

Xiaomi recently introduced a very special high-end smartphone with a Leica camera, the 12S Ultra. But that’s not enough for the Chinese company. On August 11th and therefore only one day after the Samsung event, it will be fine the next product fireworks ignited (Source: Weibo). Xiaomi has already revealed what to see on Chinese social networks:

  • Xiaomi Mix Fold 2: Basically the answer to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. A foldable phone that folds out into a small tablet. Technically, this model should be up to date and not have to hide from Samsung. Since Xiaomi has released a gold teaser, a new color could be introduced in gold.
  • Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro: Xiaomi will also introduce new headphones. Visually very reminiscent of the AirPods Pro from Apple. Also appear in a gold color. Presumably active noise cancellation is supported.
  • Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro: Instead of a Xiaomi Pad 6, there is a Pad 5 Pro with a 12.4-inch display. The Android tablet has already been shown in the teaser from Xiaomi. It’s just slightly larger than the 11-inch Xiaomi Pad 5 that we’re familiar with.

How Xiaomi wants to read your mind:

All new Xiaomi products only for China?

Since Xiaomi has only announced the event for China, many are currently assuming that the new products will initially only be launched in China. This was already the case with the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and could now also happen with the Mix Fold 2 and the other devices. We can only hope that at least the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro will find its way to Germany. That would actually be a real added value for the Android tablet market.
