Xiaomi continues to expand its Redmi Note 12 range and a new model has just appeared. The Chinese manufacturer recently unveiled the Redmi Note 12T, a smartphone that targets the entry/mid-range segment. It is considered the successor to the Redmi Note 11T Pro, released last year in the Middle Kingdom.

The visuals communicated by the brand show a smartphone with a rather classic design, reminiscent of the recent Redmi Note 12 Pro and Pro +. We therefore find a fairly refined design and the same rectangular photo island. The latter is equipped with three sensors and an LED flash. The exact dimensions are still unknown, but we note the presence of a fingerprint reader on the right edge of the device.
The smartphone is equipped with a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen, compatible with HDR10+ technology and Dolby Vision, displaying a resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels. The panel adopts a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Although the use of LCD is less and less common, this choice should lead to a particularly attractive price.

A model designed for power
Under the hood, Xiaomi has chosen the new Dimensity 8200-Ultra associated with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of up to 512 GB. This SoC, the result of a partnership with the manufacturer MediaTek, is based on four ARM cores Cortex-A78 clocked at up to 3.1 GHz, plus four A55 cores running at 2 GHz for less demanding tasks. The chip is compatible with 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3 and wifi 6E. It is accompanied by the Mali-G610 MC6 GPU for graphics performance.
The first feedback on Geekbench suggests a machine capable of offering a fluid multitasking experience, with real ambition in the field of video games. Hence the interest of a 144 Hz screen, which is more difficult to integrate into an Oled version.
The manufacturer did not provide additional details about the camera. We can expect a 64 Mpx main sensor accompanied by an 8 Mpx ultra wide-angle module and a more anecdotal 2 Mpx macro sensor. These specs should capture decent photos in broad daylight.
The Xiaomi 12T Pro feeds from a 5080 mAh battery compatible with recharging at 67 W. Enough to refuel in a good half hour. With the onboard components, we can expect a rather solid autonomy.
Unsurprisingly, the smartphone runs Android 13 with the MIUI 14 overlay. The Redmi Note 12T Pro is available in three colors: black, white and an elegant metallic blue. Its price, at least in the Chinese market, is very affordable with a starting price of 1599 yuan, or around €210, for the 8+12 GB RAM version (excluding taxes). Of course, taxes and shipping costs will have to be taken into account, but the rate should remain competitive with the rest of the market.
