Xiaomi wants to compete with Philips’ Oneblade with its Trimmer Uniblade X300 shaver

Good ideas are often copied. Seven years ago, in 2016, the world of male beauty was completely turned upside down by the Philips Oneblade shaver which, at the time, revolutionized electric shavers. Far from the imposing models with large grid heads, the Philips Oneblade took the form of a classic manual razor equipped with vibrating blades. Since then, the success of the Oneblade has not been denied and many other manufacturers have taken inspiration from it to develop their own razors.

Latest player to date, Xiaomi has just lifted the veil on its Uniblade Trimmer. Very similar to the Oneblade, it has a small shaving head fitted with vibrating blades which can oscillate back and forth over 40°, in order to best fit the curves of the face; the latest evolutions of Oneblade blades pivot left to right as well. According to Xiaomi, the blades would be just as suitable for three-day beards as for long hair. In the box there is also a shoe to adjust the cutting height, from 0.4 to 8 mm. Pure coincidence no doubt, this guide is reminiscent of the Oneblade Pro Face + Body QP6541 / 15.

Element (finally) differentiating from the Xiaomi Trimmer Uniblade, it uses a base that can be fixed to the wall. Once the recharging system is embedded in the support, simply place the Uniblade Trimmer razor (which will remain fixed thanks to a magnetic system) for the recharging to begin. This wireless charging system, therefore induction, seems to have a fairly low performance since Xiaomi promises 60 minutes of autonomy for 6 hours of charging, all the same.

The control panel of the Xiaomi Trimmer Uniblade is limited to the minimum portion; a simple on/off switch and a diode to inform the user about the activation of the key blocking or the upcoming shutdown of the shaver.

For the moment, no date of marketing in Europe has been communicated, and the price of the Uniblade Trimmer razor remains unknown. It is still very likely that the latter will arrive in our regions quite soon.
