This compact VAE has a battery in its baskets, one at the front and one at the rear, each offering a capacity of 540 Wh, for a total of 1080 Wh potential. Enough to certainly exceed 100 km of autonomy. However, the consumer has a single battery by default, the second being optional. Each battery is obviously secured via a lock and offers two USB sockets in USB-A and USB-C format. Perfect for recharging your smartphone.

According to journalists from Cycling Transition present at the show, the basket + battery assembly should weigh nearly 7 kg. It is therefore quite heavy, but the large handle of the basket makes it easy to transport. Once everything has been removed, the bike is partially secured, its engine then becoming inactive. We note that the front and rear baskets are identical, which is practical for adapting to everyone’s tastes while creating an efficient industrial logic.

Perfect transition to discuss the technical elements of this model… The motor, placed in the hub of the rear wheel, delivers a torque of 45 Nm, which is interesting on this type of engine. The aluminum frame is compact, its design reminiscent of a sort of mini VanMoof. Its behavior should be playful thanks to the use of small 20-inch roads, the same size as a BMX. The Bikniks also has mechanical disc braking and its chain transmission has only one speed.

HaoTing Technology is above all a design company and its Bikniks can be compared to a concept offered to other brands. Precisely, a well-known brand seems particularly interested in this bike: Xiaomi, which has been discreet on this market since its folding launched in 2020. A huge opportunity for HaoTing Technology which indicates the Bikniks should be marketed all over the world under the Xiaomi brand. Its price has not yet been made official, but we are talking about a price tag of around €1000.
